5 Reasons why you should be a speaker at the Open Source Data Center Conference 2018 in Berlin

1). Connect the Open Source community dots
Speaking at a conference is a way to share your ideas, stories, and experiences with community members, put your research up for discussion, and build connections through your contacts.
2). Share your knowledge with the community
“Fear the fear of public speaking and do it anyway.” Arvee Robinson once said. The art of public speaking is a skill, but only practice makes perfect.
3). Be present in the community
Maybe you’re active on social media, in your local tech, open source, or code-specific community or in other voluntary measures. These are all great ways to build your presence digitally before you try your hand at speaking at a conference. Everyone likes to get to know and listen to a person and influencer in real.
4). Attract Open Source opportunities
Great speakers attract opportunities. Why? Speaking makes you visible. You’re in front of the room, so that’s rather obvious. But the fact is that your credibility is enhanced. You become an expert.
“It’s all right to have butterflies in your stomach, just get them to fly in formation.” –Rob Gilbert
5). Influence the Open Source community to think beyond
Speaking is part of that process of persuasion and often the most powerful part. Anything that helps increase your influence is generally a good move.
Take a look at our list of confirmed speakers and follow their example! Enthusiastic speakers can submit their proposals on https://osdc.de/submit-a-talk/ on or before the 31st of January 2018. The conference will take place from the 12th to the 13th of June 2018.
We at NETWAYS invite all of you techies from across the globe to speak and share your thoughts at the Open Source Data Conference 2018 in Berlin. Join the other speakers and send us your papers!
