stackconf 2023 | Become a Speaker!

Help us to shape the next conference program!

The 2023 edition of stackconf will take place on September 13 & 14 in Berlin and we’re currently looking for speakers from the field of IT infrastructure solutions.

 

What we are looking for

stackconf explores the entire lifecycle of open source infrastructures. All steps like building, CI/CD, running, and monitoring will be covered. Therefore we’re looking for experts in this area who are ready to share their first-hand know-how. Whether experience or project reports, tips & tricks, new features, or best practices – the more practical relevance, the better! Choose between three different types of lecture formats: Ignite talk, 30 minute– and 45-minute talk.

 

What to expect

As a speaker at stackconf you will benefit in many ways. Give a presentation to the open source community and get infected by the prevailing enthusiasm. Take advantage of the various networking opportunities at the conference, exchange ideas with other attendees and make new friends. Take a look behind the scenes and enjoy all the benefits of a paying attendee, for free.

 

What to do

Check out our guide and see how to successfully submit a proposal. We have lots of tips & hints to increase the chances of a positive response. Maybe you will find the last twist your submission was missing.

For now, we just need a short abstract of 500 characters. Choose an appealing topic, and formulate your text carefully – the first impression counts. Our Call for Papers ends on May 31. So submit your talk today!

What to Expect

EDI GmbH excels in process monitoring, controlling and optimization using artificial intelligence (AI) with EDGE-/Cloud-based Infrastructures as platform ecosystem. The focus is their users’ Jobs-To-Be-Done, according to the motto “AI with People for People”. With their white box framework, they create future-proof business models with tailored software solutions. They use open source technologies to focus on the development of our users’ Jobs-To-Be-Done. They utilize Kubernetes with Zipkin, Graylog, Prometheus as well as ArgoCI and StreamPipes and bring it to life with trusted partners like NETWAYS. As an example for this strong cooperation, Heinrich and Thomas will present their Well-Being Barometer for Seniors.

Let’s take a walk down memory lane and see which insights stackconf 2022 has brought! Today we dive into Martin’s talk Configuration Management vs. Workflows vs. Orchestration.

 

What to Expect

When it comes to configuration management and applications people try to adopt the config management also to application rollout or upgrades. Usually, people will struggle hard to get the things done right – especially when it comes to server or service dependencies. In Martin’s talk he shows how you can integrate Puppet declarative configuration management with task based workflows and plan based Orchestration using Puppet Bolt. He also gives an overview on Puppet limitations and how Puppet Bolt helps you to add the missing parts of Puppet. He further explains the differences between workflows and the according tasks, and orchestration and the plans. You will receive an overview of the integration between Puppet and Puppet Bolt and how to develop and use Bolt Tasks and Plans.

In his talk Sebastian discusses the question if it’s a good idea to run MySQL databases on Kubernetes.
