stackconf 2022 | We accidentally created a Serverless Application

This entry is part 8 of 8 in the series stackconf 2022

How about taking a walk down memory lane and seeing which insights stackconf 2022 has brought? Let’s continue this blog series with JJ’s talk We accidentally created a Serverless Application.

What to Expect

As a developer advocate, one of the largest challenges JJ has is to teach people how to use their products. To do this is that they have to create workshops and disposable environments so their students can get their hands dirty. As IBM employees they use the IBM cloud, but it is designed for long-term production usage, not the ephemeral infrastructures that a workshop would require. We have previously created some systems around it to provide different ways of building up these systems, but in this latest iteration, they discovered they created a full serverless stack (by accident).

stackconf 2022 | Optimize Performance with Continuous Production Profiling

This entry is part 5 of 8 in the series stackconf 2022

Let’s take a walk down memory lane and see which insights stackconf 2022 has brought? Today we dive into Yishai’s talk “Optimize Performance with Continuous Production Profiling.

What to Expect

In his session Yishai will take you from theory to actual practice demonstrating what continuous profiling is. By the end of his talk, you will learn how to understand and optimize your code performance even in the most complex production environments. With the increasing complexity of modern applications, continuous profiling methods and tools are gaining popularity among the Developer and Engineering communities. Additionally he covers what continuous profiling entails and why you should implement a profiler into your tech stack (if you have not done so already). He will then bring theory to practice and demonstrates a real-life scenario using gProfiler, a free open-source continuous profiling tool, covering Linux servers on multiple architectures (such as Graviton).
