Performance monitoring for NagiosThere are various extensions and add-ons for generating graphics and performance charts from returned Nagios monitoring data. Despite these, we have developed our own NagiosGrapher which is far easier to configure and deploy.
Due to the monitoring process, Nagios check plugins supply a string of additional information alongside its monitoring results. From these strings, NagiosGrapher extracts performance data and stores them in a RRD database. Through an integrated web interface, these performance data can be graphically displayed during their operation. NagiosGrapher additionally generates a Nagios configuration which links to each corresponding graph within the normal Nagios web interface, ensuring that it can be accessed directly off the ‘Service detail’ view in Nagios. NETWAYSGrapherV2The original NagiosGrapher is one of the most popular tools for displaying and storing performance data from Nagios and was the basis for the development of its successor - "NETWAYSGrapherV2". GrapherV2’s new features include the ability to integrate new monitoring data without reinstalling, automatic detection of new hosts and services, value normalization, easy installation and integration into the Nagios set up. While retaining the existing, successful aspects of NagiosGrapher, the new NETWAYSGrapherV2 for Nagios sets new standards in graph presentation, usability, data accuracy and flexibility.
