Features
Elegant knowledge organization
The principles of information storage in BookStack are based on the ideas of a normal stack of books. Like regular books, BookStack books can contain chapters and pages. You start by creating a book that acts as the top level of categorization. Ideally, you should use different books for different topics.
You can create pages directly within a book or create chapters first. Chapters provide an additional level of page grouping to keep pages organized, but are optional. All the information you write is stored on pages. Although books and chapters do not contain any information, they can be provided with a short description for easier search and visibility.
Once you start stacking books, you can use bookshelves to organize your books. Shelves can hold multiple books and a book can be on multiple shelves.

BookStack enables rich media, such as images and videos, to be seamlessly integrated into content to improve presentation and understandability. Draw.io for creating diagrams is also integrated.

By using the BookStack API, you can extend and automate the functionality of the platform to meet your specific needs and make your content management workflows more efficient.
BookStack offers corresponding REST endpoints for all logical structures such as shelves, pages, chapters, etc. With the help of a token, the corresponding authentication against the API endpoint takes place and all objects can be easily created, changed and of course deleted. Learn more
