B2RUN – dabeisein ist alles!

Aus Spass wird Ernst! So erging es uns mit Vanessas Idee, am diesjährigen Nürnberger Firmenlauf „B2RUN“ teilzunehmen. Es haben sich schließlich acht mehr oder weniger laufbegeisterte NETWAYS-Mitarbeiter das Ziel gesetzt, die rund 6 km lange Strecke rund um den Dutzendteich in Angriff zu nehmen.
Der Nürnberger Lauf ist die zweitgrößte Veranstaltung der Laufserie, die unter anderem auch in Berlin, München und Hamburg stattfindet. Startschuss ist am 26. Juli 2012!
Höhepunkt ist sicherlich der Zieleinlauf im easyCredit-Stadtion und die After-Run-Party. Unseren Teamerfolg werden wir hier in fantastischer Atmosphäre ausgiebig feiern!
Unser Teamkapitän ist momentan im Urlaub und bereitet zwischenzeitlich den Trainingsplan vor. Eine heiße Vorbereitungsphase erwartet uns, denn schließlich wollen wir vorne dabei sein!
Wir freuen uns auf  alle Kollegen und Freunde, die an der Strecke dabei sind um uns anzufeuern, damit die Champagner-Dusche gesichert ist! 🙂

Nach langen Jahren in der Hotellerie, hat sich Markus auf die andere Seite geschlagen und leitet nun bei NETWAYS die Event-Abteilung. Seine langjährige Erfahrung als Hotelmeister hilft uns jedes Jahr die beste Konferenz von allen die noch kommen werden zu veranstalten. Wenn er privat nicht mit seinen Kindern unterwegs ist, entspannt er am liebsten bei der Gartenarbeit oder beim Gitarrespielen.

NETWAYS goes Business Cup 2020

Dieses Jahr findet am 14. März der deutschlandweite Business Cup in Nürnberg statt und Netways hat ein motiviertes Team am Start.
Der Business Cup ist eines der größten Hallen-Firmenturniere Deutschlands und zeichnet sich durch das professionelle Kleinfeld-Turnier für alle Firmen mit Turnierorganisation, DFB Verbands-Schiedsrichter, Moderation, Sanitäter und einem Foto- und Videoteam aus.
Vor Ort werden viele Fotos gemacht und aus unseren Reihen werden auch paar Schnappschüsse gemacht die ihr euch dann anschauen könnt.

Die Anmeldung erfolgt über die Website. Gegen eine Teilnahmegebühr kann sich jede Firma zum jeweiligen Turnierstandort anmelden.

Der Weg zum Finale findet sich durch das klassische rundenbasierte Turnier-System mit jeweils vier Teams in einer Gruppe. Der Sieger dieser Stadt tritt dann durch das K.O-System gegen einen anderen Städte-Sieger an. Das Deutschlandfinale findet in Düsseldorf statt. Die Gewinner Mannschaft nimmt am Firmen-Europa-Turnier in Belgrad teil und darf gegen die besten spielen.

Momentan befinden wir uns in der Vorbereitungsphase für den Business Cup und haben schon die passende Sportbekleidung ausgewählt. Dazu wird auf das kommende Event daraufhin trainiert und tauschen uns über Trainingsstrategien aus.

Da nicht nur Fußball zu unseren Aktivitäten zählt, schwitzen wir auch beim B2Run, eine Laufveranstaltung für Firmen am 23.07.
Dazu kommt der Triathlon am 28.06. Bei diesem teilt sich ein Team aus 10 Personen die Distanz eines Ironman auf.

Egal welche Sportart, das NETWAYS Team ist bereit alles zu geben und bereitet sich fleißig vor. Spaß steht an erster Stelle, doch ein Sieg beim Cup wäre natürlich die Krönung :-).

Summer has come to Nuremberg, and as July is typically the hottest month of the year, the NETWAYS gang is really happy to be in our new office with air conditioning! And our annual barbecue also always takes place in July, and now our office is much closer to the rooftop! All in all, a good month.

Catharina unterstützt seit März 2016 unsere Abteilung Finance & Administration. Die gebürtige Norwegerin ist Fremdsprachenkorrespondentin für Englisch. Als Office Manager kümmert sie sich deshalb nicht nur um das Tagesgeschäft sondern übernimmt nebenbei zusätzlich einen Großteil der Übersetzungen. Privat ist der bekennende Bücherwurm am liebsten mit dem Fahrrad unterwegs.

Last month Gunnar started with a post about JSON-Streams with HTTP for realtime notifications. Achim was at the DockerCon in San Francisco and shared the latest news he heard there about docker-compose.

Eva started by counting 133, 126 , and 119 days to the OSMC  and introduces the online program while Bernd continued on events and announced that we are once again one of the organizers at the DevOpsDays Berlin 2015.
And Dirk showed what things are done wrong in user management and shared tips to make it better. Cornelius then explained how to improve log analysis through gltail while Markus W shared how to feed Graphite with Icinga data.
To the end of the month, our new colleague David introduced himself,  told us about his first Puppet Fundamental Training and last but not least about his first participation in our annual sporting event – the B2Run.

Weekly Snap: TKmon for Servers, Puppet & Pacemaker Courses

weekly snap22 – 26 July was packed with training courses on Puppet and Pacemaker, tips for SAHI and Vagrant vboxsf, and a new monitoring software for servers to boot.
Martin presented TKmon, a simplified version of Icinga for Thomas Krenn Servers that automatically notifies Thomas Krenn for support on hardware problems.
Eva counted 92 days to the OSMC with Simon Meggle’s presentation on “End-2-End Monitoring of Web Applications with SAHI”.
She went on to introduce our Puppet training courses – the first officially certified classes in Germany for beginners, advanced users and even developers wishing to extend the configuration management software.
Continuing with courses, Lennart gave us a peek into his teaching plan on building clusters with Pacemaker as Eric shared his quick tip for delivering Javascript files and images using Vagrant vboxsf.
Lastly, Bernd lamented superficial Facebook birthday wishes while Stephanie reported on this year’s B2Run and our 17-man team of joggers.
