NETWAYS uses Bareos for its central backup system which centrally stores the data of the operating systems on a dedicated backup SAN system. If requested the backup can be extended on a backup server to another data center.
We backup the systems once a day by default and once a week, we run a full differential backup (full database backup). On the other days we perform a differential backup (backup of all new or modified files since the last full backup).
Backup and Recovery
The system covers of course all functions of a backup system: Scheduling of backup and job verifications according to individual timetables as well as full, incremental and differential backups, data compression before storage, concurrent job prioritization, and restoration of individual files or a complete client.
NETWAYS Cloud Backup
All virtual machines in the NETWAYS cloud are hosted on our Ceph storage using its functions for the backup. Hence for all our VMs are out of the box daily snapshots available for the period of a week – without any additional costs or implementation effort.
We have the possibility to reset your VM to any point in time within the snapshots or to mount the VM into the VM data system and you can restore individual files by yourself.
