Soeben haben wir die Fujitsu und Hirschvogel Success Stories auf unserer Homepage veröffentlicht, welche die Zusammenarbeit / Projekte mit Unternehmen aus unserem Kundenkreis darstellen.
Die Bitmarck Service GmbH ist ein Dienstleister für Datenclearing und -analysen in der deutschen Krankenversicherung. Das Unternehmen entschied sich für eine Serverlandschaft von Fujitsu mit der dazugehörigen Server-View Manageability-Lösung in Kombination mit einer Nagios-Monitoring-Lösung. NETWAYS konnte aufgrund seiner Partnerschaft zu Fujitsu Select für ein harmonisches Miteinander sorgen. Die IT-Umgebung verteilt sich auf zwei Rechenzentren, wobei eines im Falle eines Ausfalls als Ersatz dient. Als Monitoring Lösung dient auch hier die Open Source Software Nagios womit der Kunde sich hochzufrieden zeigt. NETWAYS war für die Implementierung von Nagios und die Integration von Fujitsu ServerView zuständig. Hierfür wurde ein individuelles Plugin entwickelt womit die BITMARCK-Administratoren über nur eine Oberfläche mit Nagios alles im Blick haben. Lesen Sie die komplette Success Story online.
Die Hirschvogel Automotive Group, mit größter Automobilzulieferer weltweit, empfiehlt, aus guter Erfahrung heraus, anderen Usern die Produkte von Sensatronics und NETWAYS. Das Unternehmen kaufte Überwachungsgeräte von NETWAYS für deren Rechenzentrum mit circa 120qm und 20 Serverracks. Besondere Merkmale der Sensatronics Produkte, wie beispielsweise die Nagioskompatibilität und die leichte Handhabung, überzeugten Hirschvogel zum Kauf dieser. NETWAYS konnte hier als Dienstleister rund um die Beratung beim Kauf beistehen und freut sich, wie auch Hirschvogel auf künftige Projekte. Zur Success Story

Weekly Snap: Nagios in Magna, Kempten, Saxony’s Public Attorney & T-Mobile plus NSClient++
Jan 18-22 was dominated by our project consulting team with Nagios monitoring left right and center.
Birger got around, visiting Magna in Thuringa, Kempten in Allgaeu and the Public Attorney in Saxony–Anhalt. In Thuringa, he threw praise on Magna’s orderly data center and software configurations during a Nagios consultation, and in Saxony-Anhalt did his bit for civil society in helping the Pubic Attorney get monitored by Nagios. In Kepmten Birger marvelled at their winter wonderland while on his way to fix a SNMP trap connection to EventDB by snmpd and snmptt.
With less travelling, but equal roaming, Manuela tipped off our latest success story on a massive network monitoring project achieved at T-Mobile. Check it out to see how Nagios is supporting your international data roaming on GSM when you travel.
To top off the Nagios theme, Michael introduced his NSClient++ blog series. He began with module groups: checkDisk (checks disk utilization), checkEventLog (checks entries in the eventlog), CheckSystem (checks processes, services, CPU utilization) and CheckHelpers (offers more ways of running checks). Each module is broken down into various sub-modules which carry out queries, and the parameterization of individual checks is similar. As he moves on with his series, Michael should cover installation, configuration and the running of several checks, which are communicated exclusively via encrypted NRPE to the monitored system. Nagios Überwachung bei T-Mobile
T-Mobile setzt schon seit 2003 neben den herkömmlichen Closed Source Produkten auch auf den Einsatz von Open Source Software. Seit einigen Jahren unterstützen wir T-Mobile beim Einsatz und Skalierung von Nagios im Unternehmen. Im Laufe der Zusammenarbeit wurde nicht nur das hausinterne Netzwerk ins Monitoring mit eingebunden, sondern auch das Data Roaming in internationale GSM-Netze aufgebaut und kontinuierlich erweitert. Zum Analysieren des Netzwerktraffics stellten sich Nagios und Wireshark schnell als „Best Fit“-Lösungen für den Einsatz im Roaming-Bereich von T-Mobile heraus. New Year Snap: OSDC new date, VLAN plugin updates and stories of success
We welcome all those who have returned from holidays to the desk, with a few quick updates.
The Open Source Data Center Conference has been postponed to a new date: 9- 10 June 2010. Good news is, the Call for Papers is still open, so all interested speakers who would like to join high flyers the likes of Baron Schwartz (Percona), Florian Haas (Linbit), Dr. Michael Schwartzkopff (MultiNET), Erkan Yanar und Ralph Dehner (B1 Systems) are more than welcome to submit.
A small Christmas gift came for those who may have missed it – an update of the check_interface_table_v2.pl with integrated VLANs. The generated table overview also shows which ports are configured to which VLANs. Test it on the demo system, or download it from Monitoringexchange.org or Netways.org.
