Weekly Snap: CeBIT 2013, Windows 8 and AutoIT

weekly snap4 – 8 March was CeBIT week, complemented with presentations and a couple reflections on Windows 8 and AutoIT from the office.
The first half of the CeBIT team left early on Monday for Hannover, and by Tuesday the fair was in full swing.
Bernd shared his presentation on “Open Source Data Center Virtualization with OpenNebula” while Tom made his on “Shared Server Ownership with Puppet” as the teams changed shifts.
Back at the office, Alexander tried Windows 8 and ended with a little tile-frustration, as Dirk dealt with a few AutoIT integration problems.
Eva continued counting 44 days to the OSDC, by sharing a video of Martin Gerhard Loschwitz’s talk on running “Your own Cloud with Open Stack Essex”.
Finally, the CeBIT adventures came to an end and Eva promised more photos to come.

Weekly Snap: CeBIT Stand & PuppetCamp, Icinga / Nagios & Puppet Courses

weekly snap18 – 22 February was all about events, workshops and training courses in Puppet, Icinga / Nagios and development.
Eva began by counting 58 days down to the OSDC with Christian Winkler’s presentation on “Ultra performant websites with varnish MP4”.
She also announced NETWAYS’ CeBIT stand whereabouts this year and reminded interested speakers to submit their talks to the Puppet Camp 2013 Call for Papers before 15 March.
Puppet Labs then trained our Puppet trainers Sebastian and Thomas in preparation for the upcoming Puppet courses they’ll be running.
Continuing with courses, Eva dished the details on Dirk and Christian’s three Nagios / Icinga workshops with iX.
Lastly, Markus shared his .vimrc and favourite VIM addons as our dev team re-emerged from their two-day blue-sky think camp with new processes and photos to show.

Weekly Snap: Font Awesome & Solaris Zone Cluster Monitoring, IRF & CeBIT 2013

weekly snap14 – 18 January offered development, managed services, and systems management tools, on top of CeBIT and OSDC 2013.
From our managed services team, Martin S introduced an Intelligent Resilient Framework for smart virtualisation.
Meanwhile, Marius shared a web dev tip for good-looking and quick HTML icons called Font Awesome, and Thomas his plugin to monitor Solaris Zone clusters.
Finally and somewhat expectedly, Eva announced our participation at CeBIT 2013 and counted 93 days to the OSDC with Constantino Vázquez’s presentation on “OpenNebula Toolkit”.
