Clustering

Implement clustered servers for high availability

Clustered servers offer redundancy and high availability in your network. In principle, a back up server for each server- one active master and one passive slave. The slave monitors the master in stand-by and replaces it automatically in the event of any failures. This ensures the highest availability, so failures are never even noticed. It is usually excessively expensive, with highly specialised hardware and software, associated license costs and annual maintenance fees. By combining Linux the free operating system, standard hardware with specialized security solutions- we offer cluster solutions at a fraction of the price.

High Availability

Bundle measures to increase availability

To ensure the constant availability of your entire network as well as every single server, application, process, we offer a complete service. The fool proof solution that combines a redundant network, clustering and load balancing. Important servers are connected by two different network cards to two different switches and are configured by bonding or trunking. Furthermore, the servers are clustered through virtualisation to use minimal hardware whilst ensuring a component takes over from another failed one. Load balancing offers even higher network performance and redundancy in minimising the risk of a server fall out. To ensure the consistent high availability of the setup, we test every 3 months and major configuration change. This setup ensures the accessibility of the server despite a switch or network failure, or even a pulled cable.

Load balancing

Share work load between servers

Easily deploy efficient and scalable application platforms online by distributing queries from URLs to multiple servers. Scaled linearly, the capacity of the platform correlates simply to the number of servers as no online communication needs to take place. In effect a virtual server is created as the Loadbalancer which correspond to the IP address and port number, hence representing an application. The Loadbalancer directs queries to the real servers by VAT or direct routing, depending on the various capacities or functions. The real servers then respond to the query directly to the client or via the Loadbalancer. As the Loadbalancers are also potentially single points of failure, we cluster them too for redundancy. Furthermore we offer dynamic load balancing. This means automatic adjustments of the load balancing to immediately remove failed servers or distribute load away from slower or weaker servers.

Virtualization

Yield more from hardware resources

Depend less on hardware while getting more out of each resource. Virtual servers are not coupled to any specific hardware so are simpler to maintain and are easily be moved between platforms without driver problems. Since multiple virtual servers can be installed on one physical server, its efficiency is multiplied in use. This perfectly suits services which require a dedicated server but lower output. Reorganisation is also simplified. When an application promptly needs more power, virtual servers can be quickly configured faster than new hardware for a real server can be purchased and installed. Firewalls

We offer firewalls based on open source software in combination with normal PC hardware for many advantages over expensive hardware solutions. Open source also offers flexibility to custom the firewall availability, number of interfaces and pick the hardware platform you already have experience working with.
