OSDC 2010 Conference Speakers

Baron Schwartz

Baron works with Percona Inc. as Director of Consulting. He is the author of the popular Maatkit toolkit for MySQL (among other tools) and co-author of High Performance MySQL Second Edition.

 

Before joining the Percona team, Baron worked for a search engine marketing firm, building backend systems that help customers drive sales to their sites, lower costs, and increase advertising efficiency. Prior to that he helped an online retailer become one of the top websites on the Internet.

 

Baron's focus on automation, quality, and reliability has helped many people achieve better performance from their systems while bringing them the peace of mind that comes from knowing their data is secure and accurate.

 

When not at work, Baron enjoys rock climbing, building and playing musical instruments, and vegetarian cooking.

Florian Haas

Florian's expertise covers the spectrum of high availablity and clustering solutions, from databases to virtualization, file services and many more. He works in Vienna at   Linbit Information Technologies GmbH , the creator of DRBD®  as a Partnership Manager. Prior to this, Florian gathered over 10 years experience in Linux and Open Source as a Senior Technical Consultant for high availability solutions. Florian further demonstrates his interest in high availability issues on his  personal blog.

Dr. Michael Schwartzkopff

Dr. Michael Schwartzkopff is a Consultant at MultiNET Services GmbH on IT security, high availability systems and network management. His Linux experience extends back to 1994 when he first got his hands on a Yggdrasil distribution. Besides writing for Linux Magazin and other publications, Michael shares his knowledge through various seminars.

Erkan Yanar

Since a 2.0.x kernel, Erkan Yanar has been on the road with Linux and interested in just about anything that has no GUI. He regularly presents at conferences and has published articles in technical journals. In his current position as a DBA at a large telecommunications company, Erkan also works extensively with the virtualization of databases on VMware ESX, Xen, Solaris Zones, as well as OpenVZ.


Erkan will present in German.




Ralph Dehner

Founder and Managing Director of B1 Systems, Ralph boasts 8 years experience as an open source consultant and trainer. He is also the co-author of the German book, "Virtualization with Xen". B1 Systems manages administration and operation of the BuildBot for the KVM project and is active in the developement of KVM.

Jens Link

Jens Link (http://blog.quux.de) ist seit mehr als 13 Jahren im IT-Bereich tätig. Er ist freiberuflicher Consultant, seine Schwerpunkte liegen im Bereich von komplexen Netzwerken (Cisco), Firewalls (Linux, Cisco, Check Point) und Netzwerkmonitoring mit OpenSource-Tools.

Rainer Jung

Rainer Jung ist Member der Apache Software Foundation.

Er ist Mitbegründer und Geschäftsführer der kippdata informationstechnologie GmbH. Seine Ausbildung als Mathematiker verhalf ihm zu seinen analytischen Fähigkeiten. Mittlerweile ist er als Systemarchitekt meist damit beschäftigt, die schwierige Brücke zwischen Entwicklung und Betrieb zu schlagen. Rainer Jung ist Committer für Apache Tomcat und Apache HTTPD und Release Manager von mod_jk. Sein Unternehmen kippdata steht für innovative Konzepte und integrierte Lösungen in großen Systemlandschaften. Für Apache/Tomcat bietet kippdata professionelle Supportdienstleistungen.




Michael Schlenzka

As Sales Engineer EMEA at Jaspersoft, Michael Schlenzka is responsible for supporting customers and prospects with architectual and technical solutions for Jaspersoft and BI-systems. Jaspersoft is the market leader in Open Source Business Intelligence, the world’s most widely used BI software, with more than ten million total downloads worldwide and more than 10,000 commercial customers in 100 countries. Prior to Jaspersoft Michael spent 4 years working in business intelligence consulting with focus on financial services. He has also worked for IBM Global Services in Germany in designing application management outsourcing solutions and CSC in London in the delivery of an outsourcing project. Michael has a degree in Information Systems from University of Applied Science and Arts Hannover.

Wolfgang Stief

Wolfgang Stief implementiert seit über 10 Jahren Unix-Lösungen in mittelständischen Rechenzentren. Seine Schwerpunkte liegen im Bereich Solaris/OpenSolaris, HA-Cluster, Storage, SAN und verteilte Dateisysteme. In seiner Freizeit ist er aktiv im Vorstand der German Unix User Group und sammelt, restauriert und betreibt in München in einem kleinen Team historische Großrechner aus dem wissenschaftlichen Bereich.




Jörg Möllenkamp

Jörg Möllenkamp ist Principal Field Technolgist bei Sun Microsystems. In dieser Rolle beschäftigt er sich mit den vielfältigen Anwendungsfällen von Solaris und OpenSolaris. In der Solaris Community ist er durch sein Weblog c0t0d0s0.org und durch das von ihm publizierte freie eBook "Less known Solaris Features" recht bekannt.
